Getting your car home from Spain
Spain is a holiday and winter home for many Dutch people, and many of our jobs involve a car that broke down on the coast or one bought there. If you break down on an autopista or autovía, switch on your hazard lights, put on a high-visibility vest before getting out and wait behind the crash barrier. Call 112 if you are stopped in a dangerous place. If a local grúa (tow truck) takes the car to a garage or yard, we collect it from there. Tell us the road, for example the AP-7 or A-7 along the Mediterranean, the kilometre point and your direction, or share your location on WhatsApp. If the car is at your apartment or in an underground car park, send us the address and the height limit. We drive from the Netherlands through France, via La Jonquera or Irun, and take the car wherever you want it.

My car is at a garage on the Costa del Sol. Can you bring it back to the Netherlands?
Yes. Agree with the garage that the car can be released and settle any outstanding bill there. Send us the address and opening hours; we agree one fixed price for the whole trip to the Netherlands upfront.
Can you bring a Spanish-registered car to the Netherlands?
Yes. The car rides on our flatbed, so it does not need to be driven. Keep the Spanish registration papers with the car; you then arrange import and registration in the Netherlands yourself through the RDW.
How much does it cost to bring my car from Spain to the Netherlands?
That depends on where in Spain the car is, the destination and the state of the car. You get one fixed price for the whole trip upfront; we agree it before we set off and nothing is added afterwards.
