Getting your car home from Norway
Norway is long and mountainous, with fjords, car ferries and long tunnels. From the Netherlands we arrive on the E6 through Sweden to Oslo, or by ferry, for example from Hirtshals to Kristiansand. If you break down, switch on your hazard lights, put on a high-visibility vest and place the warning triangle. In a tunnel, drive on to a lay-by if you can and use the emergency phone there. Call 112 if you are in danger. Many roads charge tolls automatically by number plate; you do not need to arrange anything for our transport. Norway is not in the EU. If you bought a car there, customs paperwork is needed at the border, and you arrange the import into the Netherlands yourself. If a local recovery firm has already collected the car, send us that address. Help on the spot comes from a local service first; we take over the transport after that.
