Getting your car home from Hungary
The main route from the Netherlands runs past Vienna on the M1 (E60) via Győr to Budapest. The M0 ring road circles the capital, and the M7 leads to Lake Balaton. The M5 heads to Szeged and the Serbian border; it is the road many travellers take to the Balkans and Turkey. Hungarian motorways require an electronic vignette (e-matrica); you do not need to arrange anything for our transport. If you break down on an autópálya, switch on your hazard lights, put on a high-visibility vest, place the warning triangle and wait behind the crash barrier. In an emergency, call 112. If a local recovery firm has already taken the car, send us the address of that firm or the garage. Tell us the motorway, your direction and the exit, or share your location on WhatsApp. We then take the car to the destination you choose.
